Frequently Asked Questions

What is executive coaching?

The pace and pressure of the modern workplace require leaders who have a plan for continued growth and development. Great leaders know that outside perspective is essential, so they hire coaches to bring “real-time” insights and new strategies for growth. Coaches are careful not to instruct or advise their clients what to do (See ICF Code of Ethics). Rather, they ask powerful and thought-provoking questions to help clients make clear decisions. Executive coaches provide a safe environment to discuss the struggles of leadership while helping leaders gain the tools and strategies for transformation and success.

How do I know if this is worth my investment?

It’s true. Investing in an executive coach requires significant time, finances, and determination. The clients who receive the most value are the ones who put the most into the process.

But the real question is – what’s the cost of staying where you are? How many more years will you stay trapped in your current position? How many more times will you let your weaknesses get the best of you? Depending on how you look at it, you may already be paying a high price.

How are you different than other coaches?

Many coaches offer pre-packaged solutions with a “one size fits all” approach. As a Master Practitioner of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, I can bring you detailed insight into your unique personality type allowing for a custom-tailored coaching experience.

What if I change my mind and want to discontinue coaching?

Many clients want to see results quickly. However, transformative coaching is a process, not a quick fix resolution. For this reason, all new clients are asked to agree to a minimum of 6 months of coaching services. At that point, if you would like to discontinue our partnership, you are more than welcome to do so.

What more can coaching do for me beyond what I’ve already learned?

Most likely, you already work to expand your knowledge by regularly reading books, listening to podcasts, and attending conferences. The one thing you may not have is someone who can help you gain self-awareness and tools specific to your business context. Through face to face meetings, engaging conversations, and personal check-ins, I can provide what most authors and conference speakers are not able to offer.

How is a coaching experience facilitated?

Each coaching experience is custom designed around your unique needs and capacity. There are many ways to facilitate regular communication including face to face meetings, telephone calls, and Zoom or Skype video calls. After we talk, we’ll discuss your preferred method of communication to help you thrive in the coaching process.
